One of the original founders of Brighton Unemployed Centre was Dudley Edwardes, a trade union militant and socialist. He died over 20 years ago and we have named the backroom of the centre after him.
His son Bob was a well known-painter in Brighton as well as an ex-teacher. Bob had helped set up the new centre in Hollingdean and his paintings adorned our walls. Sadly Bob passed away last year and we now have his collection of paintings.
